In the workshop we make wooden toys, hot plates, Christmas lights, jewellery boxes and insect huts. The wood workshop is a great way to get a first introduction to woodworking materials and techniques. We are working with Amanita, a recycling company, who will cut the wood pieces for us from scrap wood. In the workshop, we sand, decorate, glue and, if necessary, oil. There’s also a bit of fiddling with how the different parts go together. We don’t use complicated tools or techniques. Orrrekes’ most popular workshops include jewellery boxes, hot plates and wooden aeroplanes. In the children’s camps, we make wooden toys or little insect huts. Here you can read a nice story about a flyer with a lipstick that once happened in our airplane making workshop. On children’s birthdays, everyone can enjoy making warblers. At Christmas time, you can make wooden Christmas decorations as a family with the Christmas kit or in the Orrrekes workshop.
